As I wait for my baby to come out of her procedure As I wait for my baby to come out of her procedure today I’ve been thinking about all the trials and hard things we have to go through in life. @betsymikesell shared a quote by Neal A Maxwell that hit me hard. “Trials and a tribulations tend to squeeze the artificiality out of us, leaving the essence of what we really are and clarifying what we really yearn for.” Our trials, while extremely difficult at times, can help us to be better. They can help us do a “spring cleaning” of all the junk in our lives, allow us the opportunity to see life from a different angle and get our priorities in order. They can send us to our knees, and if we let them, they can help us come closer to God. I have never felt the truth of this so sorely as I do now. I anticipate that I will have to go through many more difficult things in life, but it is my relationship with God and all of your prayers that are sustaining me through this one. I truly believe, like the people of Alma in the Book of Mormon, that the Lord has eased my burdens and is helping me carry them. “And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.”
Mosiah 24:14
The shower is DONE! This was originally going to b The shower is DONE! This was originally going to be a simple tiling project when I started, but then I found the mold. Remember that?? And now the weird window is OFFICIALLY GONE. I’m so happy to be done, and I’m especially happy with how beautifully the matte black @pfisterfaucets shower faucet looks against this @tile_for_less_utah tile! When grandpa Montenegro was helping me with the plumbing he held up the shower spout and commented on how sturdy it was. He could tell that it was quality, and that’s coming from a professional! Thanks for following along, now onto the rest of the bathroom! I’ve got some big plans, ya’ll. Big plans. #pfistersponsored #sponsored #showertile
Update on Baby Charlotte’s cancer. Not the news Update on Baby Charlotte’s cancer. Not the news we were hoping to hear today, but we know that God is behind us through all of this and there is a wonderful purpose for our struggle. Just like I knew from the very beginning, it’s still all going to be okay. There is more to learn, and we will continue to become more refined. We will love harder, forgive more easily, continue to reorganize our priorities, and become a little more selfless with each passing day. Baby Charlotte’s got this, especially with a loving God behind her. Let’s do this.
MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. THIS IS NOT A DR MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Knowing the difference between a drill and a hammer is an important distinction, don’t ya think?! 😂 In other news, I’ve got til 1:00 before I have to head to the airport. Who thinks I can slap some tiles on this shower before then?? #tileinstallation #tileshower #girlswhobuild
Sometimes I still can’t believe that I built thi Sometimes I still can’t believe that I built this! Little ol’ me, the small-town girl from a big family who has never really had a thing for school. You wanna know how I started this DIY thing? With a drill. The only tool we had to our name. I got my cuts made at @homedepot to build a nightstand and at the end of it all I was amazed that I could build such a thing. And that’s all it took! I was hooked. I can’t even describe the sense of accomplishment I feel when I finish a build. Even if it’s a repeat project, it still never gets old because I learn to do it better the next time. What a fear you have that you want to overcome this year? Here’s to a 2021 of overcoming fears and accomplishing great things! 🥂 All the nitty gritty details for this project including a complete tutorial can be found in my highlights under “pantry cabs”, “herringbone”, “drawers”, and “sharpie wall”
